what are the harvest letters?
A faith-based blog featuring writings rooted in a Biblical worldview and Scripture-filled designs/downloads.
Why The name?
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9).
I’ve always had a fascination with the word harvest. It’s such a visual picture of sowing and watering and reaping, of acting in faith that something will eventually spring up out of the dirty ground. I think our lives are full of repetitive harvests, and we are waiting on the ultimate Harvester to come and collect our souls.
Scripture uses this analogy over and over again, and it gets me every time in the passage’s own unique way. Also, God keeps showing up in the garden in the most crucial of times. He purposefully placed the very first humans in the Garden of Eden, and He walked with them there. The very last night that Jesus spent on earth was spent in the Garden of Gethsemane, where He prayed and wept and waited. I think there’s something to that.
I am calling them letters because that’s what I picture them as. I am writing directly to you, in my messy scrawl and imperfections, hoping you resonate with some of these thoughts and sins and stories. I hope that God shows up for you here like He shows up in the gardens, full of grace and truth and hope.
So here's to good changes and baby steps, planting seeds and watching them grow.
because life is full of grime & grit, growth & grace.
